First, I need to apologise for not updating my blog for so long. Sorry about that because I've broken my words to do so. Ermm, so let me just make everything shorter. What my situation for now is,
-I just finished my final exam for this year 2 days ago.
-Gonna have a month for travelling before GOING BACK TO MALAYSIA!!!
-Plus, I just finished reading a book. (Small matter but I just want to mention it. Haha)
After a few months of busy and tiring study life, finally I can take some rest throughout my mind. So, I've been thinking about my life in UK on these few days. Like, 'what I've learnt in here?', 'What I gained in this 9 months?' , 'Did I changed?' 'Changed to what? A better or even worse person?' ...
All of these things just keep moving around my mind. Sometimes, you can't have the answers until you write it down. Hence, I would like to share my life stories and what these stories have taught me within these 9 months.
1. I got a chance to TRAVEL to a lot of places whenever I have my vacation. My travelling dream came true! Traveling became much more easier since I came here, you can get everything though online and sometimes you can really just go without planning. Travelling abroad is just like our local travelling in Malaysia. Whenever you want, you can just arrange your schedule in few days or maybe more and it depends on you. What I've learnt and gained from here is: I was able to plan a trip better than before, got a chance to know more about the countries such as, geographical location, culture, life, people over there, foods and etc. There is always a lot of invisible skills you can gain whenever you do something, go ahead and do whatever you like by yourself BUT NOT RELYING ON OTHERS. Because this is the way you learn. =)
2. I got a PART-TIME JOB as a waitress since February. So, this is my FIRST part-time job in my life and I enjoyed it so much. I worked in a Japanese Restaurant near city centre and it took 20 minutes from my place to there. At first, I didn't know about the other route so I need to spend 40 minutes to get there(What a stupid)and I can feel those KL people who needs to go to work one or two hours before their working time. Undeniably, I was nervous on the first time I worked. I remembered the first day I went to work, I didn't even tie up my hair and this is a COMMON SENSE. =.= I know, I'm kinda speechless for myself. Nevermind, it's fine. A lesson for myself. Actually I feel so lucky to get this job cause I realised there is a lot of people who came to apply a job but never get a reply (same for my friend) However, for my case, we never had a meet before even at the first time I passed my CV to them. Coincidently, I put my CV into their mailbox on the day I was seeking my job because they were closed. Til now, I never know the reason my boss hired me but anyway I was grateful to have this opportunity. My colleagues are so friendly and nice. Sometimes, we'll hang out for lunch or movie. As a waitress, I learnt to be more observant. You'll need to observe what the customers' needs because there is some difference between customers in UK and Malaysia. They'll just closed the menu to show that they're ready to order instead of raising their hand. Most of them were so friendly and you'll feel that they were just like your friends. They always showed their good manner and respect and I feel so willing to serve them. Somehow, having a nice chat with the customers gave me a sense of achievement. Out of my expectation, I found confidence and happiness in my job and I really appreciate everyone that gave me this chance.
3. UNSTRESSFUL UNIVERSITY LIFE. Yes! This is truth! I'm doing Bsc Mathematics with Actuarial Science in University of Southampton so everything I described is according to MY SITUATION. I'm not sure about the others but I can tell mine. I'll have 16 hours of lecture class and tutorial per week. In addition, we have only 6 months of study period minus all the vacations. Therefore I got more time for myself. Usually I'll spend my extra time on baking, cooking, doing research, papercraft or watching drama. Definitely, this study lifestyle is actually what I always wanted. The reason why I said it is non stressful because there is no one will tell you "YES, STUDYING IS THE ONLY JOB FOR YOU, FOCUS ON YOUR STUDY, DON'T PLAY, DON'T DO NONSENSE THINGS. I think it's because the different education system, the lecturer won't tell you to get 90 marks, get A*, get a first class degree. He'll only tell you try to balance your study and life. 60 marks and above is considered good result in UK. What I can tell is I GOT FREEDOM. I got a freedom to do anything I like and I totally enjoy it. =)
4. HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. Since I've been here, I think this is the biggest change in my life. I admit at first I started to change my lifestyle is because I wanted to lose weight and have a good body shape. So, I started to workout 4-6 times per week. Besides, in order to have more effective results, I started to control my diet. I did the research and find the workout and recipes online. Until now, I not dare to say I know everything but at least I have a basic knowledge about healthy lifestyle. I can tell that the process is tough and not that easy. You need to have determinant and motivation all the time. Sometimes, I do calculate the calories that I've consumed per day. But I failed to do this everyday, although I wanted to=.= I'm not yet success to reach my target but I'll maintain this lifestyle and work hard for it. It was a long way to go though. =) I believe I can do it!
So, it's time to end up this part. I will continue my part 2 soon. See you guys soon. =) All the best to my friends I'm so looking forward to hear the stories from all of you.
great job! Keep it up!
